Selecting a Pool: Above-ground or In-ground?
The primary decision for homeowners looking to install a swimming pool is whether to choose an above-ground or in-ground pool design. Like most things, there is no clear-cut rubric for determining which of these options will be right for your home. However, there are a number of factors that can help you decide which pool design will fulfill the needs of your family.
Staying Above-ground
Above-ground pools are the less expensive option of the two, and are easily put up and taken down any time you want. If you decide to move, you can take the pool with you, or if you decide you no longer want it, it is easy to sell and transport. Above-ground pools are simple to install, so that you can be swimming in a day or two. In general, above-ground swimming pools are ideal for homes with small yards.
Digging Deeper
Building an in-ground pool is a permanent home improvement that can also be seen as a long-term investment in your home. In-ground pools are sturdy and long-lasting, and integrate well into a spacious, scenic yard. Compared to other pools, in-ground pools can be built to a variety of specifications including depth and length.
